However, if you love Asparagus like I do, you need to know how easy it is to cook it.
This is a perfect accompaniment to any meal and for me, I love it with Easy Lamb Cutlets.
I use one bunch for myself, however you can share a bunch between 2 (depending on the size of the bunch).
Serves 1 – 2 people
- 1 bunch of asparagus (5 – 10 asparagus spears)
- Splash of Water
- Nob of Butter
- Baking paper
- Aluminium Foil
Take your bunch of asparagus and snap each spear to take off the woody section. Recently I read that you don’t need to snap them, you can just cut off the ends. I like snapping but it’s up to you.
Get enough foil to to be able to wrap the asparagus into a parcel.
Use the baking paper and make sure it’s wide enough to create a parcel for the asparagus but is small enough to fit inside the foil.
Place the foil down, put the baking paper on top.
Add the asparagus and centre it within the foil/baking paper package.
Add a splash of water, a nob of butter, salt and pepper. If you have other flavourings you like, add them in now.
Fold the paper so that it covers the asparagus, then fold the foil over the top of that, creating a parcel.
Place in the convection oven and bake at 180o C / 360o F for 10 – 25 minutes depending on if you like it al-dente or soft. I like asparagus both ways so it just depends on the day how I cook them.
As with all my recipes, the first time you make a recipe, check it to see if you need to increase cooking time or increase/decrease heat as every round convection oven is different from the other.
Once the cooking timer goes off, enjoy your Perfect Steamed Aspargus thanks to your round convection oven.
