Garlic Mushrooms

Garlic Mushrooms

 

I can cook Garlic Mushrooms so easily and quickly in my Round Convection Oven and they make a delicious hot or cold side dish with any meal or are just delicious on their own.

I love mushrooms but I’ve been struggling about how to cook them in  my round convection oven without them drying out.  Putting foil on top means dealing with trying to get it off if I wanted to check it and then putting it back on.  I’ve solved the problem with a mini Tagine or a mini Casserole Dish with lid.

If you don’t have a mini Tagine or casserole, you can also use any dish with a lid so that you can easily pick them up to give your mushrooms a stir as they are cooking.

Ingredients

  • Button mushrooms (you can use any type of mushroom you like here).  Just fill up the tagine/casserole to the top.
  • Butter – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil – just a splashI doubled my garlic hit by using garlic oil here.
  • 1 small clove of Garlic – crushed
  • Salt
  • Pepper

You can cook these without any oil or butter as they cook in their own juices.  I used the butter and oil for extra flavour.

I cooked them for 20-30 minutes at 220o C / 430o F, taking the lid off and stirring occasionally.

When they were cooked, remove the lid and grilled on a maximum heat for another 5 minutes.

These are delicious both hot and cold.  You can add herbs, yoghurt or cream for added flavour.

I enjoy this as a breakfast with or without bacon, as a delicious lunch on toast or as a side dish with meat for dinner.
